Redekop has designed serrated blade upgrade kits to work with most major combine brands and models. Each Redekop serrated blade upgrade kit comes with the right combination of high-quality carbide-coated blades, bolts, nuts and bushings to complete the conversion. Redekop serrated blades are designed to provide the best quality, saving both time and money.
Conversion to Redekop serrated blades will noticeably increase the chop quality of the combine. Redekop blades self sharpen; as they are used they wear to a sharp, serrated edge that provides the best possible straw-cutting action. Many factory blades were not designed with this in mind - they wear to a dull, blunt edge. In side-by-side tests, customers are amazed at the improvement the Redekop blades make.
All blades are coated with high-quality carbide. The carbide is optimized by:
• implementing a leading-edge laser coating methodology.
• utilizing a custom carbide blend that lasts longer and extends the life of the blade.
• coating the entire cutting edge of the blade for maximum wear efficiency.
By using carbide coating on the serrated blades, Redekop blades self-sharpen and slice through straw with less force than winged blades or non-carbide–coated blades, which tend to blunt quickly. Sharper blades will cut the straw more efficiently for faster decaying and save power.
Redekop’s carbide coated serrated blades are specifically designed to start sharp out of the box and stay sharp through the life of the blade. Some serrated blades on the market are sharp out of the box, but don’t have any carbide coatings to maintain sharpness throughout the season.
The serrated edge provides superior cutting action in tough conditions typically found at the start of the season or with crops like flax and hemp. The Redekop serration is designed to cut the straw versus “grabbing or clawing” the straw.
Redekop blades slice through straw with less force. Sharper blades will cut the straw more efficiently and save you power and fuel. Redekop carbide coated serrated blades have less residue build up on the blade or in the serrations when compared to competitive blades.
